You can see Nurus everywhere these days...

Famous Habitat opened his first store in Istanbul. But while all the known brands are coming to Istanbul, turkish design started to show itself around the important world fairs or cities. One of the most amazing ones of this brands is Nurus. They were one of the important participants of Milan Design Fair with their project 'ilk in Milano' with lots of famous turkish designers. They were also supporters of the turkish design students with their concept projects. To see their innovative design you can visit www.nurus.com

slacking is slacking really

I definitely am a slacker these days. I do not do diet, to be honest I eat a lot, don't walk enough, do not do the things that I am supposed to do. Well, easy to blame the operation. But to be honest it is just I am a slacker these days and I am not very happy with it. I even do not wanna write how much I weigh since it is out of control. Today, I had a whole day of mine. Just mine. And instead of walking/shopping/designing/doing all the things i should be doing, I just laid my lazy ass. I am very bored as well. So I just wanna go out, and do some of the stuff I should be doing. Or at least, stay at home, and do some work that I promised weeks ago. So anyway. Instead of crying I am going out just now. It is very late now, 19:30, but still at least I can see the last hour of daylight. See you guys. xxx

60 Day Challenge - DAY 10 - part 2

Yay, I walked around 5km. Good for a start isn't it. I got out of home. Walk further than BuzAda, walked back to Macro again and got a taxi there. This is around 4.5 km according to gMaps pedometer Anyway, I had to walk 500 meters later. And that counts to 5km, yay =]

So I ate dinner before going out. And when I returned home I managed to stick to a carrot. So if I just not eat anything until breakfast, then it really is a start for the challenge. I know, it is the 10th day, but still... lol

I know what keeps me focused. Reading and writing blogs. Other people who have the same desire give me the feeling that I am in a contest or something, that I have to catch them. Also makes me feel supported. And a diet is a good challenge. It is not only what you eat, to be healthy you have to be very careful about what you do as well. Vitamins, minerals, eating regularly and exercising.

So here is to challenges...

101 Things to Do Besides Eat When You’re NOT Hungry

{Well I know, some of them are a bit silly, but I thought it might come handy from time to time, dont you? I coloured some of them that are doable for me. But my advice is just walk or start writing a blog =p. Reading other blogs can also help a lot - Jades}
When you recognize that an urge to eat was caused by a trigger rather than true hunger, you can choose to do another activity to distract yourself until the urge passes. Here is a list of 101 ideas to try instead of eating. Highlight those that appeal to you and add some of your own. Remember, try to choose activities that are enjoyable, available, and preferably, eating incompatible. Create a “Distraction Box” or drawer with everything you need to distract yourself and establish a Food Free Zone in a comfortable area in your home or office that is perfect for just for these moments.

60 Day Challenge - DAY 10

Waw, 'Day 10'. Not one, or 2 or 3. But 10. And ask me how I made through those 10 days. Did I loose any weight. Did I do any sports. Neah... I gained more weight. Today I am 60kg. Worse than what I started the challenge with. Do I care? No. I think it is very normal with the operation and everything in between. And it is just 10 days passed. I still have nice 50 days left which I can do better. So yeah, I didnt quit. I wont. Today I calculated the distances that I can walk daily.
So here are some of them (home: ciragan, Istanbul):
Home - Ortakoy: Around 1.5 km. So going there and back is simply 3 km which is nice since the return trip has a very nice slope with a hard angle I might say. Not bad.
Home - Kurucesme (just across the Galatasaray Island, sorry we should call it 'buzada' these days): Around 3.5 km. Cool. So it makes 7km if I walk there and back.
Home - Bebek: 5.9km. Nearly 6 km. I am talking about Gloria Jeans Cafe here. Nearly the end of Bebek. It makes 12 km to complete the route. Well maybe this route should stay for the weekends. I have not been walking for a very long time and obviously I find it very difficult to walk even 1 km. Well. I ll get used to it again. So here is nice google map to show the route from home to Bebek. It is a very nice route near Bosphorus. Maybe I can try my first Ortakoy today. I cant do further than that yet with the operation and stitches on my leg. Love you guys xx

My route can be seen here: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=1043419

The Operation

Hi there. At the end, I had this famous operation at last today. The lamb was guessed to be 2x3 cm. Apparently it is bigger than that. Around 7x3 cm. Unbelievable, isn't it? 21 cm2! It was like I was carrying a huge unwanted staff all around. After the operation, which was with local anaesthetics, doctor showed it to me. It seemed huge. Well, nice to get rid of it. I have now this very long cut between my leg and my front body with lots of snitches on it and I'll be able to get rid of them on Thursday. And silly me, I forgot to ask when I'll get the results for biopsy. I guess I can learn it on Thursday again. I mean, not the result, but when I can get it. But, to be honest, I don't expect anything out of it. I guess it was just a regular lamb.

After the operation we (me&mum) got home and I slept all day. I feel bored a lot. But I am scared to go out and have a walk since the first time I got up after the operation it started to bleed. Doctor said when the anaesthetics wear of it will be hurting a lot, since it is not something small. But it is ok until now.

Well anyway, enough talk about operation. I really am very bored. Hope you are all fine. xxx

Trouble on a Sunday

I was very confused about the challenge. I started to mix days since I cant live a regular day it seems. Today I have been called early in the morning for a problem. I mean very early. Around 4am I guess. Now it is 13:30pm, and the problem has not been solved yet. Today I should be looking for wedding gowns. I still couldnt choose one. I guess I ll be very late after all. But I am not too worried about it since one of my friends offered me her wedding gown, if I cant manage to get one myself. It really is a relief. Of course I very much would like to have my own. But under this circumstances, at least I have got an alternative. And it is very nice for her to offer it without me asking. Anyway, I ll get ready to go outside, but I may not be able to do it since the problem has not been solved yet. Love you guys xxx

60 Day Challenge - DAY 3

I am not doing very well dietwise and started the day 59 kg. I guess that is because I dont have any chance to give time to exercise. But today it was unbelievable. Normally I have to go from one building to another a couple of times since the project room is at another building. But today, I guess I did this twice than the usual amount. Add the stairs in between. Anyway...

I still am at work, but cant work because someone else has to work with my laptop (to be able to use my passwords, dont ask) so I just found this free comp. and looking around. Also there are 3 journalists here working cause there had been a problem with their own system.
(diet)
i've been going from one agency to the other since 9am today. feeling really tired now but had good results. i'm applying for 2 jobs at the moment. one of them is a normal admin job with £12-13000 salary. the other one is a financial services administrator position in a good company with £16-18000 salary =]]
the agency is gonna send my cv to them and then we'll c whether or not they want to interview with me. and the company is also willing to train me for a while when i first start so it's a really good opportunity.
wish me luck =]]

seminars @ uni today

i spent my day at uni, there was this seminar about how to write your dissertation proposal and today's subject was research methodology. it was pretty boring... there's another lecture tomorrow morning, after that i'll go to work.

i called my boss today, was a bit nervous, didnt know what to expect after the recent events, it wasnt anything to do with my own position but still.. you know.. =/

anyway, i said im back and that i can go to work tomorrow afternoon, after my seminar. he said welcome back and that he'll see me tomorrow. i asked if all's good, he said yep enthusiastically... im still a tad nervous but we'll see what's going on tomorrow...

i still need to unpack, i have an open suitcase in the middle of my room and i left my room as a mess before i left for turkey two weeks ago. i feel sooo tired though, all my energy drained. if i can get my lazy butt up, i'll tidy up a bit now, if not i'll watch the final episode of heroes and then sleep...

jades, check your mail and reply me asap btw..

love you both, xxxx
I went to a meeting on the European side today at 4pm. Amazingly, it was just one hour meeting and ended at 5pm. And unbelievable but I am at home now, even before 6pm, yay =] Didn't want to go back to work, so called my manager and there you go.

In the morning I went to American Hospital to show this lump(what is the word for kitle?) So I'll have this small operation on Monday so that this 'thing' can be removed and have a biopsy. Nothing to worry about, just to inform you guys. By the way, mum is coming on Saturday and she will be with me on Monday as well. Will write later again. xxx
another day of calling agencies and trying to get appointment is waiting for me. by the way munir said he is gonna call me today but to be honest i dont think he will. we'll see.

i really need to find a job as soon as possible. it's not just for the money, for myself and for the good of my relationship.

testing the label

60 Day Challenge - DAY 2

05.June.2007
08:05 am - Just a quick note: I started the day weighing 58.8 kg. So one might think the diet is going well. Well, I hope so...

60 Day Challenge - DAY 1

04.June.2007
I decided to take a 60 day challange to loose some weight since I am gaining more and more every day after starting this new job. So as I calculated it, in the last six months I gained 6kgs. So today was day 1. But guess what happened. I had seduced by this Turkish Kebap called "Sarma Beyti". Very delicious. Well, it didnt help at all to my challange day 1. But I was hoping to return home early and walk. But I had to work all night and I guess I will be working every night this week =[. How am I supposed to take challanges if I keep working like this?

Well anyway. I gave my word to myself. This was day 1, and I wont stop because it started badly. (quick note: this challenge is a diet challenge if i wasn't clear enough =p)

From Picasa

I am writing this post inside picasa to see how it works. Did it before with athe's nice photograph. But it had been a while, so I dont remember how this is working. After this one I'll post some tulip festival photos, some from yesterday and maybe other ones. xx

blogger, picasa

I find this blogger and picasa and all the other google tools amazin. But I guess I have to spend some time to learn how to use them. Well anyway, since I am learning I ll be trying some picasa and blogger abilities.

how to use the blog

Hey I just realised instead of writing another post, we can just comment on each others' posts. Great. Now we can use this place as a daily posting and talking place which we can check each other, send some photos, and use as an archive for all of us. Great =] But maybe we should change this template. I was thinking designing one, but then I thought, well, we dont even know if we ever gonna use this blog, why bother. So, maybe after proof of concept for this blog, we might actually design something we like and implement it here. And for the language choice. There goes "pasa gonul kriterleri" here =p. Up to you. Every post might be a different language, I dont mind. What do you think? I prefer to write in English if possible, so it is a kind of practice. But sometimes, one wants to use her mother tongue, arent we all? I might post some pictures here now. See you guys.

how about?

So, how about 'notes to us' instead of 'notes to ourselves'? Just an idea?
